First Lutheran Preschool is located near the Miller Branch Library in Ellicott City, Maryland. We specialize in offering a warm, nurturing preschool experience for young children age 2- 5 years old and their families. Understanding that this is the first school experience for our students, we emphasize the love and joy of learning and celebrate each child's unique growth and development. Children who attend First Lutheran Preschool develop confidence in their ability to contribute in a school setting, which leads to increased social skills and kindergarten readiness.

Our outdoor classroom is certified by Nature Explore and includes an outdoor play kitchen, climbing logs, a digging circle, compost tumbler, art easel, forsythia bushes to build forts and hide-outs, and numerous trees. We believe that uninterrupted time in nature is necessary to create hearts and minds that support the sustainability of our planet. First Lutheran Preschool's nature-based environment provides inspiration for early childhood professionals as well.
